I am proud to be a NZ Civil Union Celebrant and believe that Marriage / Civil union is a basic human right. I look forward to working alongside you in the future to create a Ceremony that is an expression of you and the one you love.

For me Marriage / Civil Union is a vital social institution. The exclusive commitment of two individuals to each other nurtures love and mutual support; it brings stability to our society. Without question, civil marriage enhances the "welfare of the community." It is a "social institution of the highest importance."

I believe Marriage / Civil Union bestows enormous private and social advantages on those who choose to marry. Without the right to marry, one is excluded from the full range of human experience.

Civil union is at once a deeply personal commitment to another human being and sometimes a highly public celebration of the ideals of mutuality, companionship, intimacy, fidelity, and family. Because it fulfills yearnings for security, safe haven, and connection that express our common humanity, and I believe it is an esteemed institution. The decision whether and whom to marry is among life's momentous acts of self-definition.”
